MANAGING COMMITTEE
The Managing Committee is Apimondia Foundation’s Management. His composition is the following: Asger Sogaard Jorgensen (president), Riccardo Jannoni Sebastianini, Octaaf van Laere, Wolfgang Ritter and Cristian Constantinescu (members).
Asger Sogaard Jorgensen (Denmark), the President of the Managing Committee, is since 1999 the President of the International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations - APIMONDIA. He is also the President of the Danish Beekeeping Associations and member of the Editorial Board of the Danish apicultural journal “Tidsskrift for Biavl”.
Riccardo Jannoni Sebastianini (Italy) is since 1993 the Secretary General of APIMONDIA. It wasn’t so difficult for him to succeed in this job, because many years he was the right hand of the former Secretary General of APIMONDIA, Dr. Silvestro Cannamela.
Prof.Dr. Octaaf van Laere (Belgium) is since 1991 the President of the Standing Commission of Bee Biology of APIMONDIA. In 2002 he was appointed as President of International Bee Research Association (IBRA).
Dr. Marinus Jan Sommeijer is President of the Apimondia Standing Commission for Melliferous Flora and Pollination (SCMFP).
Cristian Constantinescu (Romania) is since 1995 General Director of Apimondia Foundation. He coordinates, guides and promotes the activities of the Foundation.
